Nativity Newsletter & Christmas Service News

Dear Nativity Family,

The December days are passing quickly; the Fourth Sunday in Advent is upon us. We will ponder with Mary this miracle of the birth of Jesus even as we reflect on Christ’s return. It will be good to be gathered together as we light the last purple candle of the Advent wreath and pray together.

Monday presents an opportunity to gather together at FUMC for the Blue Christmas Service which begins at 6:00 p.m. All are welcome.

The sign for our Christmas Eve service has been put out! The service begins at 5:00 p.m. Due to the continuing Covid-19 pandemic and rise in cases, we recommend masks for our service. Please note: we are asking all of the children to bring a pair of mittens or gloves as gifts that will be given to Social Service agencies for distribution. There will be a special offering basket for these special gifts.

Christmas begins on Christmas Eve and the celebration continues for the next twelve days. Looking forward, Epiphany is January 6 each year. Our special service will be held on Sunday, January 9, 2022 and will be followed by a celebratory lunch at the home of Robbie Fisher and Beth Mayeaux. More on this to follow!

As we approach Christmas, take time to pause during your day and reflect on the gift in our midst. Many are in need of our prayer during this time, and also our monetary donations. Please be generous as you are able.

As the Winter Solstice approaches and the darkness surrounds us, remember this: The Light is coming into the world! May your Christmas season be a blessed one!

Faithfully,

Ann +

Vicar
