Nativity invites you to participate in roles which ensure the richness of our workshop services.
There are many opportunities share your gifts to serve the church and participate in worship services.
LECTORS
Lectors read assigned lessons from the Old and New Testaments and the Psalm during worship services. If you have a passion for sharing the Word, consider joining our team of lectors.
ACOLYTES
Acolytes are youth trained to carry crosses and torches in procession and to assist with the offertory.
LAY EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS
LEMs participate in worship by reading the Prayers of the People, assisting the priest during preparation and consecration of the elements for Holy Eucharist, administering the chalice during Communion, and assisting the Celebrant as needed. LEMs are training and licensed annually by the Bishop.
LAY EUCHARISTIC VISITORS
Nativity is in the process of training Lay Eucharistic Visitors who, once licensed by the Bishop, will be sent from our Sunday morning service with consecrated elements to share Communion with those in nursing homes, the hospital and those who are homebound and have requested communion.
ALTAR GUILD
The Altar Guild plays a crucial role in maintaining our sacred space and liturgical preparations. The Altar Guild cares for the linens and vessels used in worship, prepares the altar and church for Holy Eucharist, Morning Prayer and other services in accordance with church seasons, and cleans and cares for linens, vessels and other church pieces after and between services.

Parents of children interested in acolyte training should e-mail nativitywatervalley@gmail.com or speak with the Sr. Warden. We also invite younger children to assist with collection plate during the offertory, and parents may speak with the Sr. Warden or Mission Committee Person on Duty (usher) at church about this if their child is interested.
