A Very Vestry Yesterday

Hello everyone. We hope you all are well on this fine fall day. So far, this week has not failed to impress in the weather department. The Vestry met yesterday. Given all the big news last week, it was nice to meet up in person to discuss what needs to be done to round out this year. We are pleased with our discussion and were left with high hopes for Nativity and its future. We want to give a shout out to Debby Patterson, James McCormick, Fr. Kirk and our clerk, Kathryn York, for their constructive insight and passion for our church. It was quite reinvigorating!

Part II of the four part series onBecoming Beloved Communityis happening tonight @ 7 p.m. on Zoom. Kathryn and Kirk have done some great work putting this together and it's been impactful. Through the lens of our faith, the series offers insight into how we view our current society and how we can make it more welcoming, equal and equitable for our neighbors of color. It's not too late to join in! You will find the Zoom link below:

We have our Bible Slam update for you. We are currently in or around Psalm 60 in the big, red Bible of ours. We can't promise that James hasn't read past the aforementioned stopping point already, but we know that James would be happy for a little competition. The church is open from around 8:30 a.m. to sundown. Drop on by!

Well that concludes this week's newsletter. Stay tuned for more announcements in the coming weeks. We hope you all are mustering up the motivation to make the most of your day/week/year with courage and compassion. Christ's peace be with you and we'll talk to you soon.
