Hello, fine folks. we hope all are well or on their pathway towards wellness. We are back this week with some exciting news. We’d like to announce that Alexe van Beuren and Joe York are our two nominees for this year’s Vestry! We are so happy that they have found it in their hearts to give the Church of the Nativity their time, wisdom and talent. As the Vestry starts this new year, it’s a blessing to know that Nativity will be in such good hands. Thank you again, Joe and Alexe, for your nominations.

The current Vestry has plans to welcome our new nominees next week on Jan. 26th. Given that there are only two slots and only two nominees, there is really not reason to hold an “election.” But we do not want the voices of our congregants to go unheard. So if there is anything that any of you would like to say before we induct Joe and Alexe into the Vestry, please email (nativitywatervalley@gmail.com) or Facebook message us if you have any words of advice, encouragement or disapproval. All opinions are welcome, but we imagine that most are just plain happy to have fresh faces in our Vestry!

We wanted to mention that Lent will be upon us in a matter of weeks. Rev. Ann mentioned last Sunday that she was curious if our church would be interested in taking up a specific Lenten practice or book study this year? If you have any ideas or suggestions, let us know. Otherwise, stay tuned for more announcements for the season of Lent in the coming weeks.

Ongoing Announcements

Bible Slam is moving along. We are now seeing the light at the end of the tunnel in our journey through Psalms. Pay the church a visit and read a little while. You won’t regret it.

We’re going to wrap it up right here. We hope you found reading this newsletter worthwhile. Thank you for taking an interest in Nativity. God be with you all!
