Hello all you fine folks. We hope everyone is doing their best to get into the Easter spirit. We’re not going to lie. Being isolated and at home is not an ideal way to celebrate Easter, but we are daring to welcome Easter Sunday with open arms despite our current circumstances. We’d love to imagine an alternate reality where the Bible Slam is almost done (maybe we pulled an all-nighter or two to get there), Herschel York is getting ready to be baptized and we are able to open up our church doors with the spring foliage all around us. How great would that be?! And although these things are not happening, they will happen. It’s just on hold. Our focus right now is to make sure that everyone takes care of themselves so we can see everyone’s smiling faces when we meet again under the roof of our little mission church. Let’s look forward to that! In the meantime, our good Vicar has provided us with a homily to bring in the Easter season. Thank you Fr. Kirk for helping us welcome Easter into our homes and help break the gloomy (albeit necessary) narrative of Good Friday and Holy Saturday. We are also going to repost Brenda Prager’s Easter hymns so that everyone will have some joyous songs to sing on Sunday also. Thank you again Brenda! Let’s do this Easter thing Nativity! Let’s go ‘all in’ and embrace the hope that Christ brought us on that day of resurrection. Can we get an “Amen!” Easter Links: Fr. Kirk’s Easter homily here.
