The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God stands forever. Isaiah 40:8
Dear Nativity Family,
The children of Nativity are very inspiring. This week, I took a Wonder walk of my own around our Homestead. While it may not be what our children experience, it was exactly what my spirit needed on an Autumn afternoon. There are signs of change all around us; some leaves are showing signs of color change, some are letting go of their mooring and all around we see that Autumn is settling in. With eyes fully open, the sheer wonder of God's creation is amazing! I invite you to take a walk of your own...around your home, around Water Valley, around your corner of the world and see what God has in store for you!
This week Robbie Fisher will be leading Nativity in Morning Prayer at 10:30am. Please be supportive of our lay led services.
On Sunday, October 31, we will gather for services at 10:30 a.m. at the home of Joe and Kathryn York. Children are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes, and adults may delight us, too. More information will be coming at the beginning of next week regarding food, etc. Please join us. If the weather does not permit outdoor worship at the Yorks' home, we will meet at the church.
Lastly, St. Peter's is hosting an All Saints Day event. Here is the information:
Choral Evensong on All Saints' Day
Monday, November 1, at 6:00 p.m.
Choral Evensong is the Anglican office of Evening Prayer, derived from the ancient Latin offices of Compline and Vespers, and is composed almost entirely of music. The service consists of choral music (psalms, canticles, and anthems), scripture readings, and prayers. This 40-minute liturgy allows the listener to meditate at the end of the day in preparation for a restful night.
May God delight your senses in this season of Autumn. As E.B. White once said, "Always be on the lookout for the presence of wonder."
Grace and peace to all,
Ann +
Vicar
