Moving On

Hello friends. We hope this message finds you all in good spirits this week. It’s certainly preferable to bad spirits. We are assuming that you read the announcement from Fr. Kirk? If not, please read the previous Nativity postl before you read this one.

Fr. Kirk’s announcement comes with a mixture of emotions. On one hand, we are happy that St. George’s has found their new rector. They have been searching for two years, and we’re glad that they can now bring this chapter to a close. We wish Kirk and Kristan the best in their transition to their new home and we are sure that they will be welcomed warmly by the community of St. George’s. We are thankful to Kirk for all his help in establishing Nativity as a force for love and acceptance in our community. We know that our church is better for it.

On the other hand, we’re sure many of you will be saddened by Fr. Kirk’s departure. We were not guaranteed a long stay with Kirk, but it’s safe to say that it was cut short. He will be missed and we’re thankful to be granted a couple more months with Kirk so we can all say our proper goodbyes.  “So what will be the next step for Nativity?” you may ask. We’ll figure it out. As long as we have the support of the Nativity community, then we’re in a good place. We’ll take it in stride and find the path forward with prayer and faith.   It’s pretty hard to transition from that previous announcement, but we have some other things we would like to inform you about. The Becoming Beloved Community series starts this Wednesday @ 7 p.m. and will serve as guide on how to open up community to EVERYONE. It will be a worthy venture and we hope you will join in. You can fine the Zoom link right here:  https://us02web.zoom.us/j/83599262172 And don’t think we aren’t going to mention the Bible Slam! We are in Job now and we would like for people to help give James McCormick a run for his money. At this rate, James is in line to receive the Bible Slam gold medal. Something has to be done about this!  Believe it or not, we have a reached a stopping point. May you fall into a endless pit of grace this week and never find your way out. Christ’s peace be with you all.  -Sean
