Dear Nativity Family,

What a wonderful service of Lessons and Carols we enjoyed on Sunday, December 5. Special thanks to Brenda Prager and Katherine Ouzts for the gift of music shared with us.

On December 20, we will gather with clergy and members of FUMC for what is called A Blue Christmas Service. Sometimes this service is known by the name The Longest Night service and is often held on the winter solstice. The service is more contemplative in nature. Not everyone feels “the holly jollys” during this season. The service is designed to acknowledge that some folks need a different kind of service especially for those who feel “blue” during this time of year. As a reflective service in sacred space, it offers hope even amidst the darkness.

We will gather at FUMC at 5:30 p.m. The Rev. Reed McCaleb and I will lead this service. It is our sincere hope that next year the service will be held at Nativity.

Nativity Schedule

December 12 Advent 3 10:30 a.m.

December 19 Advent 4 10:30 a.m.

December 20 Blue Christmas Service 5:30 p.m. at FUMC

December 24 Christmas Eve Service 5:00 p.m.

December 26 Morning Prayer 10:30 a.m

Blessings as you continue your Advent journey toward the coming light.

Faithfully,

Ann +

Vicar
