To everything there is a season...Ecclesiastes 3:1

Dear Nativity Family,

I have noticed that the days are growing shorter...the daylight wanes as we make our way through this year. Autumn arrives next week and soon the leaves will be showing us a colorful array. As summer makes its exit for this year, let us give thanks for the fruit of our labor and love!

The Mission Committee met this past week and we decided that it is not economically feasible to arrange for internet access at the church. Therefore, Zoom services for Sunday morning will not longer be offered. For the time being, Evening Prayer will be offered three Sundays a month at 5 p.m.

We will be taking up a special offering for Episcopal Relief and Development on Sunday, September 26th to aid in recovery in the work being done post Hurricane Ida. Mississippi was a huge recipient following Hurricane Katrina; it's time to pay it forward.

This year, The Church of the Nativity will sponsor a Blessing of the Animals on Saturday, October 9. Time: TBA. We will hold the blessing in the Pocket Park near the BTC. It will be open to the public with guidelines to be shared next week. As with our Lemonade Stand during the Watermelon Carnival, this is an opportunity for folks to get to know Nativity.

This Sunday, Suzy Robinson will be leading Morning Prayer. Evening Prayer will not be offered this week, but will return on the 26th.

Blessings as you move through the seasons of this unique and strange year. Please continue to stay connected with the Nativity Family. It is indeed a joy to journey with you.

Faithfully,

Ann +

Vicar
