Nativity Newsletter

Dear Nativity Family,

If you are like me, the past few days of sunshine and warmer temperatures have come as a welcome delight! As I look at the weather predictions, however, I know that it is not quite time to plant the garden even as I dream of growing things and being outdoors.

This Sunday, February 13, we will have our Annual Parish Meeting during our Eucharistic Service. We will elect at least one new member (two would be ideal) to our Mission Committee, elect a delegate for the Diocesan Annual Council of 2023, and hear a few reports. In addition, the floor will be open for anyone attending to speak. This is the time to share, suggest, and to serve.

As I think about our meeting, a phrase from the Confession sticks out in my mind: “things done and left undone.” The Annual Parish Meeting is a time to thank all those who have labored so well in the past year, to celebrate what we have been able to accomplish in unprecedented times, and give thanks for our blessings. It is also a time for us to acknowledge what has not been done. As I mentioned last Sunday in my sermon, St. Benedict often said, “Always, we begin again.” Even as we acknowledge what’s been left undone, we continue to begin again. The time has come to dream of what we might yet become.

Please let me know about your Lenten preferences by this Sunday if possible. Lent begins March 2.

This Sunday we will sing! And there will be full communion by intinction. Our service will begin at 10:30 a.m. and likely will be a little longer due to our meeting. I look forward to seeing ALL of you this Sunday.

In the words of St. Francis of Assisi, may God grant you peace.

Faithfully,

Ann +

Vicar
