Nativity Newsletter and Quiet Day

Dear Nativity Family,

Saturday, March 19, a Lenten Quiet Day will be offered at the Church of the Nativity; Tools for the Journey. We begin at 9:30 and end around 4:30. Come for the whole day (lunch is on your own) or for just part of the day. There is no cost for the day, however, a donation basket will be on site to collect money for Episcopal Relief and Development to assist in their work of humanitarian assistance for Ukrainian refugees. Spending time in silence and reflection is good for your soul.

Beginning this Sunday, we will resume using the common cup for those who wish to drink from the cup. In addition, we will have an intinction cup available. Just a reminder that Communion in one kind is full communion. Masking is still highly recommended at Nativity, but it is now optional. Please be respectful of one another.

The Lenten season is moving swiftly. Holy Week begins with Palm Sunday on April 10. On Good Friday (April 15), we will have Stations of the Cross beginning at 5:30 p.m. followed by the Good Friday Liturgy at 6:30 p.m. Our Resurrection Service (Easter) will be held at the church this year. Service time is at 10:30 a.m.

As we continue our Lenten journey, I bid you to find a little beauty each day: new blossoms, new and old friendships, artwork that is a feast to the eyes, a beloved pet, even a little laughter. Amid all that is swirling around in the world, God’s promise is true in Emmanuel–God with us. We must keep hope before us. Join me in continuing to pray for the people of Ukraine.

May God grant you a continued Holy Lent.

Faithfully,

Ann +

Vicar
